HISTORY

The history of Semarang city football team has been going on for a long time when the city is still under colonial rule. The first recorded football team UNION is standing on 2 July 1911. UNION itself is simply the name for the team with the Chinese name Hoa Hwee Koan Yoe. The team is getting the right rechspersoon in 1917 from the colonial government.
Furthermore, there is also a team called the Comite Kampioens-wedstrijden Chinese (CKTH) with gym area Seteran. In 1926 the team changed its name to Hwa Nan Voetbalbond (HNV). Hwa Nan registered club has even been doing exhibition matches with overseas clubs from Taiwan, Hua Loh Voetbalbond Team.
Among supporters of native society that stands out is Tots Ons Doel (TOD) which was established on May 23, 1928, based on the Levee Kalibuntang (now Jl. Dr.. Cipto). On his way Tots Ons Doel renamed PS. Sport Stal Spieren (SSS). PS SSS which later became the forerunner of PSIS Semarang. ACHIEVEMENT

Since it was first established, PSIS has been known as a mediocre team in the competition of the United Indonesia. Less maximum support from local government (possibly) represent the characteristics of Semarang residents who tend to like the results obtained instantly and easily satisfied so that achievement of this team was not good but also not exactly ugly.
Proven new PSIS can taste the 1987 title by beating Ditahun Persebaya Surabaya in the final competition with union PSSI score 1-0 with a single goal was noisy Waidi. Because these factors are too easily satisfied (especially coupled punggawanya success in the SEA Games gold medal the first time for Indonesia) then in the next competition PSIS almost fall into the hole degradation coupled with the "interference" Persebaya who played for the 12-0 defeat of View events . Luckily, PSIS is still able to survive and continue to survive with mediocre team rankings.
PSIS is the highest achievement when winning the First Division of the United PSSI Competition in 1987 and Indonesia 1999 Champions League. In the 2006 season was the runner-up PSIS Liga Indonesia with the success of Indonesia reached the final of the League, dealing with Persik Kediri at Manahan Stadium, Solo and lost through the end of extra time for a round to-2. Currently PSIS Semarang also runner-up status as Bang Yos Gold Cup (PEBY) the last one, held in Jakarta late 2006.

PSIS managed to reach rank 13 of the 17 Eastern Conference teams.
PSIS that although the time to make a little surprise as when defeated 3-0 in the Stadium Persebaya 10 November Surabaya, but still, his accomplishments in the middle of the board are likely to bottom. Coupled with the very lack of an audience who suddenly dropped dramatically because "kuningisasi" who performed at that time governor of Central Java and at the same time his young brother achievement, BPD Central Java are also increasing, be ngenes PSIS as a team. Champions league this year is Persib Bandung who controversially beat Petrochemicals Son with the score 1-0.

Liga Indonesia II (Dunhill League) 1995-1996

Achievement PSIS is still stagnant in the middle of the board, just in terms of audience have started there is an increase. This is due to begin entry of imported players who attract an audience to watch the action as well as uniform a return to greatness color, blue. Coupled with intervention powers at that time Governor of Central Java that makes Java BPD team should only be filled by players who are poor PON experience and even when the coach tried to reduce non-PON players, he was fired from his job, but the result is a triumph. League champions are the Bandung Raya (also) controversially beat PSM Makassar 2-0.

There is a slight increase in performance through the PSIS with nearly 12 large round. Semarang soccer passion was as if risen from his sleep. Support from government flowing and the audience was getting flooded. Identity Stadium (capacity 25,000) is in LI I just recorded an average audience of 500 people and in LI II with an average audience of 15,000 people, time is always full (25,000 people). * Total matches: 16 (4 wins, 8 draws, 4 defeats)

* Difference in goals: 17 goals, 24 goals conceded enter
Liga Indonesia V 1998-1999
Peak performance of the PSIS. Coached by Edi Paryono, after reaching the rank 2 of 5 team Group D and then runner-up Group F (10 Large), PSIS finally carried off the prize in the final of the "outlaw parties" because they have to fly to Manado with the spirit of reciprocation on 11 people died in Manggarai PSIS fans, PSIS playing crazy and beat Persebaya with the score 1-0 through a goal in injury time Tugiyo second half. Unfortunately this achievement seems less valuable because the league was divided by many groups (3 region 5 groups). PSIS right to represent Indonesia to Asia Champions Cup and unfortunately the direct subject of Suwon Samsung Bluewings with a score of 3-2 and 6-2 at home while away.

* Total matches: 14 (7 wins, 3 draws, 4 defeats)

* Difference in goals: 18 goals, 13 goals conceded enter
Liga Indonesia VI 1999-2000
Down to rank 13 of 14 Eastern Conference teams.
Distracted by the title that has been achieved, Indonesia entered the League VI in 1999, PSIS too late to prepare the team and financial support suddenly jammed. Riots at the opening party at PSIS 2-0 defeat of Barito Putra was as a sign that is not good. And it turns out all it proved, the harsh reality that too must be taken. PSIS relegation to Division I, at once put myself down as Indonesia's first team relegated after winning the previous competitions.

* Total matches: 26 (6 wins, 6 draws, 14 defeats)

* Difference in goals: 22 goals, 32 goals conceded enter
Liga Indonesia VII 2000-2001
PSIS play in Division I. Jolted by the harsh reality, the management team had to act. PSIS should be returned to the First Division, so their determination. And it turns out that determination manifested, PSIS won the 2000 Division I competition as well as promotion back to the First Division. This year also marked the establishment of community supporters PSIS Panzer named Blue. In 2003, a milestone in which all participants meet each other because the system does not divide the region tournament again. Instead of performing, PSIS is still not able to move from the middle to the bottom board. League champions Persik Kediri this year is phenomenal because of the previous year in Division I. X Liga Indonesia (Bank Mandiri League) in 2004, still with the format of one region. PSIS achievement began to climb up, although not yet won a title this year achieved by Persebaya. Indonesia XII League (Liga Djarum Indonesia) in 2005, PSIS achievement is improving. In the hands of coach Bambang Nurdiansyah, PSIS won the third position. Actual results could be better achieved if only the eight major parties could be more neutral referee when PSIS conference hosted by Persija Jakarta and Surabaya Persebaya do the tarnished national football championship and eliminates the chance of PSIS with the main strike. In this year there is something new in Indonesia where the Cup (Copa Dji Sam Soe) for the first time played. Unfortunately PSIS only until the last 16 because of stalled pace by Persijap Jepara.
